Frequently asked questions
- Are people bringing their families?
- Absolutely. Some of the JuryBall team already live in Madrid, and many more are bringing friends & family to enjoy Spain before and after the conference.
- Is there a way for vendors to register?
- Please get in touch if you're interested in discussing being a vendor.
- Should I stay at the conference hotel?
Yes. Yes. Yes. We know people sometimes get an Airbnb or pick their own hotel. But we strongly encourage you to stay at the conference hotel for this unique conference. It is in the city center, near everything, and it is beautiful. You'll wake up every morning to breakfast on the roof, overlooking Madrid's rooftops. You'll have a speakeasy in the basement, a pool on the roof, and some of the best restaurants in the world only a few blocks away. The hotel will host the reception on Tuesday, and the team has special surprises planned for all the attendees who stay in the hotel.
In short, we'd love to have you at the hotel. It will help make your experience particularly special.

When Bill James invented Moneyball, the baseball establishment said he was nuts. Fast forward a couple of decades and nearly every major sports team is using big data. When Alicia, John and Sean started applying big data research to cases, they heard the same comments and criticisms. Just like Bill James, they were undeterred, and the results have been nothing short of remarkable. They are true pioneers in our field whose genius is only surpassed by the fact that they are outstanding human beings.

A jury in a conservative district just awarded our client $18.75M in a police shooting case. Alicia was with us in court helping us adapt on the flying using data, including getting involved in selection, crossing-witnesses, and providing input on opening, close, and order of proof. The JuryBall method helped us turn a case with a 50% win rate and max damages of $4M to a 90-minute plaintiff's verdict, a punitive damage victory, and a Top 5 federal jury award in a police case in US history.

In poker, how much easier would the game be if you knew what all the cards were before they were turned over? That is what JuryBall is for trial lawyers. Having worked with John and Alicia Campbell and relied on their big data studies over the last nine years, I can say without fear of contradiction that it is the single greatest tool in our trial lawyer toolbox. I would not consider negotiating or going to trial on a serious case without knowing what the big data says.
Brent Walker

Sean Claggett has been a mentor of mine for the last 10 years. A few years back Sean told me big data was changing his practice and the way he did trials. At first, the idea of implementing a new system into my practice was daunting, but given Sean's results, I knew we had to evolve or we were not going to reach our potential. Sean introduced me to John and Alicia Campbell and the rest is history. They are a necessary piece of my trial strategy - I will not try another case without them. My first study involved a catastrophic injury case and JuryBall told me we were going to lose. Moreover, the problem areas of our case were not very fixable. We settled the case for $9.5 million rather than risk a trial. Fortunately, the settlement was enough that our client will be well taken care of for life. Since that time I have hired John and Alicia perhaps a dozen times, leading to the largest verdicts of my career. In the last 6 months alone our firm has obtained verdicts of $108 million, $13.2 million, $550 million, and $114 million. I can confidently say none of those verdicts would have been possible without John and Alicia.

I have worked with the John and the JuryBall folks on many cases, including several that have gone to verdict. I always feel like we gain inside information about what the jury is thinking that the other side does not have. The increase in confidence about trying the case is immeasurable and a big reason that all of these cases have far exceeded expectations going into the trial.
